National High Five Day

Did you know that today is National High Five Day?!?! I got several high fives as I visited schools in my area today. I gave them sample yearbooks, as well as letters of recommendation from my current customers. If you’re a yearbook adviser, I’d love to give you a hand!

I have a fabulous new website! It’s clean and sleek and PERFECT! I can say that, because I didn’t design it haha. Major props to Mark Frederking (mark@yearbooksolutions.com)!
One of the best parts about the site is the CONTENT!

Have a Cover Contest = Sell more books!

One of my new schools, Ruhkala Elementary is going to have its first ever cover design contest. This is an excellent way to let the students participate in the yearbook more, and thus they have more of a buy in to buy in. =)
Here’s an example of a flyer mockup I made for them (it’s half a sheet to conserve paper, and it’s B/W for copying purposes).
And once you have all of the submissions, you can use them in many ways. Here are a few examples:
A winner from each grade with their names on the cover.
A duplication of the design on the front and back (design credit on title page).
One design, framed, with your school's color as the background.
You can also have the winner on the front and the runner-up on the back. One of my advisers featured the other entries as a border to the autograph pages. Another adviser put the rest of the entries on the class pages.
Just remember that the more the kids are in the book — and KNOW they’re in the book — the more they’ll want to BUY THE BOOK!

That’s right folks, the Re-Wa-Ne has been immortalized in print, once again! Every year, Balfour prints a poster of some of the previous year’s coolest and most innovative covers.
